Cheryl Cole is a drop dead gorgeous English singer, dancer, and TV celebrity who rose to fame as Cheryl Tweedy in 2002 after becoming a member of the pop group 'Girls Aloud' through winning a TV reality television programme.
With 'Girls Aloud', Cheryl has had a string of UK top ten singles (including four number ones), two UK number one albums, and received nominations for four BRIT Awards, winning Best Single in 2009 for "The Promise".

Cheryl was born Cheryl Ann Tweedy on 30 June 1983 in Newcastle in the North-East of England, one of five children. She fell in love with the world of show business when she was still very young, performing in many fashion and modeling shows. She also acted, sang, and won a number of competitions in ballet dancing. She won various children's awards like Boots Group's bonniest baby, Mothercare 'Happy Faces' Portrait competition and Best Looking Girl of Newcastle. As a teenager she also appeared in 2 British Gas adverts as well as adverts for SCS and for Eldon Square.
Cheryl auditioned for 'Popstars: The Rivals' in 2002. As the competition entered its "final 10" format, Cheryl Tweedy performed hits including "Still The One"," Nothing Compares To You" and ""Right Here Waiting". She was the first female to be announced as a winner and won her place in the pop group which would shortly be named Girls Aloud, joined by Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts, and Kimberley Walsh.

The Girls Aloud first single "Sound of the Underground" went to number one on the UK Singles Chart, and became the 2002 Christmas number one.
Since 2003, they have released twenty additional singles, with all but one making the top ten, and three getting to number one. "The Promise" won Best British Single at the 2009 BRIT Awards. In addition their album of greatest hits, 'The Sound of Girls Aloud' entered the UK Albums Chart at number one, with over one million copies being sold.
Cheryl's fame increased when in 2006 she married the Arsenal and England soccer star, Ashley Cole. They were paid $1million each for selling their wedding pictures to OK! Magazine. Cheryl has recently begun a very successful and lucrative solo singing career and has b een made a judge on the TV program 'The X Factor'. So' as well as looking like a dream she's also living one.
